5 Workflow Habits That Keep Your Archive Clean
Simple practices that take under a minute each and prevent the archive chaos that accumulates over years of shooting.
1. Name your session before you upload
Before starting an ingest, create a Session first and give it a descriptive name. Assets ingested during that session will automatically be linked, making them instantly findable even years later.
2. Set your cover asset immediately
Right after an ingest completes, pick the strongest image from the session and assign it as the cover. It takes 10 seconds and makes every future session review much faster — you won't have to remember which shoot a generic thumbnail belongs to.
3. Use Smart Collections for work-in-progress
Create a Smart Collection filtered by ingestionStatus = "ready" and name it "Ready to Edit". This becomes a live queue of assets that have been processed but not yet added to a portfolio — your automatic to-do list.
